From Camden Recording Studios to the All For Music Stage, sole campaign photographer for Three Ireland's City Stages at Electric Picnic 2023.
/ The Brief
Eight emerging artists. Two environments.
Three Ireland's City Stages initiative had spent 2023 touring Ireland, giving emerging buskers a platform outside Three stores in Dublin, Limerick, Waterford, Kilkenny and Galway. The culmination was an ensemble performance at Electric Picnic; eight artists, a full backing band, and a surprise guest set from Cian Ducrot.
Big Dog was brought in as sole photography partner across the full campaign. That meant two distinct bodies of work: directed artist portraits at Camden Recording Studios in Dublin to announce the City Stages Collective, and full on-site documentation at Stradbally across the festival weekend, performances, crowd, atmosphere, and the Three Charge & Chill activation.

/ On The Ground
A live festival is a different discipline to a controlled shoot.
The Camden studio portraits were directed, composition, lighting, and artist presentation all considered and controlled. Electric Picnic demanded something different. The Charge & Chill area ran continuously, with artists performing informally alongside the main activation. The All For Music Stage brought the full ensemble performance, a live crowd, and Cian Ducrot joining the collective for a surprise appearance.
The brief across both environments was the same: capture the energy clearly enough to serve the campaign, without losing the atmosphere that made the moment worth documenting. No second takes, no controlled light, no reshoots.
